Although we have opened the front doors three times during the quarantine for funerals, today we were able to open them to everybody. It is a great thing that we are able to welcome all of you back to worship. Without sacraments, our Catholic life is terribly reduced. Historically, the Japanese Christians passed a century without the Eucharist, but it is a miracle they were able to maintain their faith. They baptized their children but that was the only sacrament available since their priests had been killed or expelled. I hope this time without Mass has made some people more hungry for the Eucharist and more aware of the tremendous gift that Christ gave us in the Blessed Sacrament.
Somebody said to me they needed to "catch up". We all need to take advantage of the opportunities God gives us of encounter with Jesus. The doors are open for you.
