As I am sure you have heard, the governor has decided that schools will not be reopened for the rest of this academic year.

That is very bad news for our school children, who are working at home but can never hope to have the learning offered directly in the classroom. Our eighth graders will not have their graduation in May, nor will we have the annual celebration of the May Crowning of Our Blessed Mother, a photo of which heads this post.

Pray for our kids who miss their friends and our Holy Name family. This is a historic interruption of classes. Next year will be a lot of catching up.

Our school has been an integral part of our parish for at least 150 years. God grant us a new school year 2020-21 free of the virus and productive of our formation of good Christians and good citizens.

May God bless you and keep you and Mother Mary cover you with the mantle of her protective prayers.
